Toy Story 5 Teaser Sets The Beloved Duo Versus a Tablet Computer
Exactly 30 anniversary since the original Toy Story film debuted, launching the animation giant as a major animation studio and bringing audiences to iconic characters like the cowboy doll (Tom Hanks) and the space ranger (Tim Allen), who are now famous worldwide.
Coming in 2026, the next chapter is scheduled for release. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 landed this week, providing a glimpse into the plot but keeping viewers wondering how it will resolve the conclusion of Toy Story 4.
The Latest Addition: A Digital Device Frightens the Gang
The preview shows the young girl — who inherited the toy collection when he left for college — receiving a brand new toy, one that alarms the familiar toy group. Bonnie acquires her initial digital gadget, and she is thrilled about it.
Theoretically, the amphibian-inspired device will come to life just like the rest of her playthings. Still, the characters appear to consider it as a threat intending to supplant them, which it likely will.
Woody's Return: Mysteries from Toy Story 4
One thing the teaser doesn't touch on is why the sheriff is returned with his companions in the child's bedroom. The end of Toy Story 4 depicted him embark on a new adventure with the shepherdess (Annie Potts), traveling with a carnival and assisting giveaway items locate loving owners.
Surely, Pixar will explain the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Seeing him show up in the familiar setting without warning is a little strange, though. It also raises questions whether Bo Peep will have come back with Woody. And where is the stuntman toy (Keanu Reeves)?
Connections from the Last Installment
Fortunately, some elements are continuing from the earlier movie. The last thing Woody did before setting off for his fresh path was hand over his sheriff badge to Jessie (the voice actor), leaving her as the leader of the toy domain. The clip shows the badge pinned to her outfit.
Hopefully she is still the driving force among the group.
